MX83 head unit

I was just wondering if anyone has any details about the factory head unit found in the MX83 Cressida Grande. I read somewhere that there is an external amplifier unit in the console/dash so I was wondering if the outputs from the head unit to that amplifier were similar to preouts in aftermarket head units, and what the output is for the amp.
If I can keep the factory head unit it will be a bonus, cuz a double DIN butt-ugly cd/tape player isn't much use to any thieving bogan, and keeps the car looking like a "granny mobile" as my gf calls it.
