I am from the UK and have a '93 (MK4) Supra turbo auto Japanese import.

I *think* I may have a problem, but would really appreciate some input because I haven't had the car that long.

The problem is: sometimes when I kickdown from 3rd to 2nd (and
occasionally from 2nd to 1st) the second turbo won't kick in until the next gear shift (e.g. going from 3 - 2, the 2nd turbo doesn't open up 'til the box shifts me back into 3rd after going all the way to the redline in 2nd).

This only seems to happen when I kick down and the revs are above the 4000 where the 2nd turbo opens. If I kickdown and the resultant revs are, say, 3500, the turbo will open up fine at 4000.

Other than this, the car runs absolutely fine.

Any help would be great, there aren't many mechanics around who
genuinely know what they are talking about - as I am sure Supra owners out there will appreciate!

Nick
