i lost my license

i almost outran cops last night.. almost. i'd actually pulled a few lengths from them but my brakes failed while trying to make a corner into a backstreet. out of at least 5-10 cars speeding down the main road to get away, they decided to go after me.
..moral of the story is:
never let 4 fat mfs into your car, and upgrade your brakes.
i ended up with a 12 month suspension, $430 for speeding and $200 for running an amber/red light. funny thing is that they thought we were breaking into a factory and not dragging so they didn't confiscate the car. even checked my boot for stolen goods, but didn't bother to look under the bonnet.
am i able to contest this issue? i was 'allegedly' doing 130km/h and it was not caught on radar.
anyway, i might be selling my car now that i can't drive it.. so any serious offers will be considered.

Ouch. Take unreg the car get your cash out. Pay your fines.
12 months to work on your car. hahehe. What are the specs of your car?
I doubt u can contest it. It is a hard process and is rarely worth it.

How many offices where it the car ?
What is the speed that they " observed you doing " since they didn't have a reading 130kph in which zone ?
Where all the people in your car licensed ?
It is your word against them !!
And the word of your passengers , 4 against ?

i just paid the registration last month.. it'd just be a tease for it to sit there in the garage for a year.
83' aus spec.
jdm rwd bluetop 4age (registered motor)
frp front splitter
recaro sr3 driver seat
14" dished rims
4-1 extractors, 2.25" piping, 3" h.f cat, 5zigen muffler
600hp capable fuel setup.
i actually outran them because it wasn't a pursuit car and there were modified cars speeding in all different directions to get away.. i wasn't completely sure if they were after me or the guy in front.. but they didn't pull over the integra trailing behind me.
he only got close close enough to get my rego when i attempted slow down and tackle a turn into a side street, and thats why i gave up the chase .
2 officers he goes "you were doing well over 130km/h, thats f$#king ridiculous.." blah blah blah.. he failed to clock my speed, otherwise he would have given me a precise figure. instead, he tried to trick me into stating how fast i thought i was going on record. i presume 130 was his speed. i guess that is better than going to court and losing my car.. may not be such a wise idea to contest.
now i have some serious thinking to do on whether i should keep it or not.

I was seen by a cop drag racing in a 60 kmh zone with a wrx towards a police station (DOH!!!) at a speed probably in xs of 100kmh, coming into the rounabout l locked it up, and the cop saw the whole thing, he was standing at the corner. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he was not able to pull me over as he was on foot. He did however get me 2 days later. He gave me the spiel about how he seen me and told me he estimated my speed at 80 kmh and he wanted me to go to the station to make a statement bla bla bla. Anyway, l refused to accompany him to the station, told him l am too busy, then added l would not go there without a solicitor anyway, and to cap that off l told him "no offence officer, but you're not a radar" and went on to tell him "that estimating speed is like estimating the alcohol level in a persons blood stream, unless it's measured with a legally prescribed and calibrated instrument it would not stand up in a court of law". Needless to say this did not go over well, so he told me he was going to write me a ticket, my response was "fine i'll see you in court" for 40 minutes l had this discussion, and he just kept threatening to write that ticket, and l just kept saying Write it then, i'll see you in court" I NEVER GOT A TICKET. So the answer to your dilemma, if you have the doe, get youself a solicitor and fight it on the grounds that there was no radar reading and cops are not radars. At no time should you ever admit to even going slightly over the limit, it will then go on the record.
Good Luck

i thought the moral of the story would be " dont participate in possible illegal street drags , then try to outrun the cops , after they would have got your registaration anyway "
Sorry about loosing your licence - but alas, it was a suspicious situation , you ran , you got caught ..

Put it this way mate, I'm a pretty clued in guy, Espcially when it comes to the law and your rights. And I'd be taking it to court asap.
Did you run a red light? if so accept it coz this is based on visual interpretaion from an officer anyhow.
No recorded evidence of the speed you were doing, so argue it all the way to the full court of the high court (if you got the money and value your license that much.
But speak to legal aid as soon as possible if your eligible. Tell them the truth don't hold anything back. He/she will know what to hide from the court.

If they don't have a radar or camera reading the cannot charge you with speeding. My appearance for pedestrian run-over they "estimate" i was doing 80 kph (uphill, 1.6lt, auto laser) the court wouldn't let it stand as there was no evidence, even the marks and mesurements and estimates from the accident squad cannot be submitted as proof.
Lawyer up, get one who specialises in traffic offences.
You won't get away with the red light (it's interpretive)
You could say you weren't running as such but everyone else took off and initially it wasn't clear that it was you they wanted to pull over.
The speed you should get off as where's the proof? If it's only their word we'd all be fucked.

I took my 87 in a 60 zone in double demerits season to court, I wasnt caught on radar either and to this date (it happened over 1 year ago) they still havent sent me a reply, not saying this will happen to you, but they obviosly dropped my case as they didnt have enough evidence (ie radar etc) to convict me in court.

Actually, it all depends on the officer who saw it all. In NSW, a police officer of the rank of seargent or over is allowed to "estimate" your speed and book you. Nothing you can do about that. Also, running from the cops is pretty black and white. Not much you can do to argue that.
But I would seek legal aid, and they would be able to tell you whether it's worth contesting at any rate.

You will have a good chance if you get the right magistrate and you turn up looking sorry and enrole into a driver offenders program previous to your court case.

Reinstall the 4AC and then claim it would be impossible to get to 130km/h in a sprinter with 4 passengers?
But seriously... why would you run from the cops? And why were you drag racing with 4 mates in the car?

I wonder if he has his license back now? Or did he get it back the next day after giving the judge some oral

Man this thread is a pissa, the mentality is neyond moronic and kudos to the grave diggers.
Outrun a cop car in an AE86 bwahahahahahaha. Funniest thing is if he hadn't of run in the first place he would of got searched for the suspected robbery and sent on his merry way home.
Lesson to the kiddies, one way or another you'll get rooted for illegal street racing.
