hey rebuilding a 2t/3t hybrid, and got a slight problem!
am rotating the engine over with blue tak on the pistons to check for clearance with valves (only one piston installed)
and as i rotate the motor over the cams build up tension in the valve springs, and when the cam reaches past its highest lift point, the spring will force the cam to jump and take up the slack quickly making the timming chain loose it's timing!! hard to explain, but to make what i said a bit clearer, when i rotate the motor over, the timing marks loose a link about once every rotatin.. wirh a sudden 'jump'..
originally i thought i didnt' have all the dampers/guides installed but they are!!? what going on?
The one possible thing i can think of is that the compressiobn from the motor would normally stop it from jumping around like that and throwing the chain out a link??.
