My first car was a 1972 Mitsubishi Galant... Awesome car for $200. My first road registered car however was an '85 VK Berlina. Stolen and never recovered in less than a year.

well... my paddock bomb was a 72 or 73 corona..... an rt81 i think, not too sure. was auto, looked kinda like allans.
then, my first road car, was my mighty RA60. The Bronze warrior. Im so damn sad I am parting with him. With any luck we will keep him for my sister.
Im now onto the white nightmare. his legend growing to someday become that of his forefather, the bronze warrior.

My first car was a 1972 Datsun 1200 Coupe - 58Hp of pure excitement. But it went fast coz it was red! I managed to wind it off the speedo (100mph) a couple of times but at that speed it felt like it was wandering all over the road.
Best thing about it was it was so cheap to fix. I blew up 3 gearboxes (weak layshaft bearings), got defected for excess smoke - new engine required - and I blew the diff as well in the 4 years I drove it. No part (gearbox, engine, diff) cost me more that $50!!
I think I spent more on new engine mounts and shocks for my Supra than it cost me to keep the 1200 running for all that time.

they've got really similar characteristics. neither especially fast through very slow corners, but they stick like shit to a blanket through the quicker corners.
bother are a really well balanced car - not too understeery, not too oversteery, it just goes thru the corner perfectly (although this was with a tow-bar on both cars)

"Poo Brown Torana" is what my mates called it. I realy wanted a Sprinter but back in 96' they were around $7000 for a good eg.
Bought my first Sprinter in late 97' for $1600 (slight front damage) had it on the road with 12 months reg. for $2500, then spent another $200 on full K-Mac suspension I bought from a guy who's sprinter got smashed by a truck lucky for me the suspension wasn't damaged
Best fun I've ever had in a car!
Couldn't wait for those rainy days to come
4AC in the dry was good, but the real fun would be when it rained!
Can someone say DOORRIFFTOO!

my first car was a beast as well.
Turbo
Carby
3-Cylinder
Daihatsu
Charade
It was a tin can (670kgs) and if I had of been in ANY sort of acco I'd most likely be dead or at the bare minimum hugely fucked over.
But it still smoked (haha read my post on page two of home mechanic war stories) crappy cars. And out handled better cars

My second car was a 260z 2+2. Spent heaps on it (Noltec bushes, KYB shocks, all rebuilt front end), handled very well (more fun than the Supra) but the rust did away with it in the end. I got tired of driving a car that leaked like a sieve all the time. So it moved in the the shed to be "restored", nothing happened and 3 years later I've just sold it for wreck value.
I still love those cars, but a maybe next time a 240z 2 seater!

My AE82 CS.
Was pretty immaculate considering hte previous owner flogged the guts out of it. Blew a headgasket and the oil was always pure black. So now it runs with a 4AGE and its awesome.
Ide suggest you get the twinky AE82 if you want power but not too much. I dragged and beat a 94ish Liberty. Though naturally it was N/A and could of been auto. Needless to say i think the other driver was cut.

First car was my black ra23 celica. Unregistered bargain for 600. Prolly spent about as much on it as my second car, the silver ra23 in my avatar, and that cost 3500 :s Goes to show its best to shell out more at the start for something thats already in good nick. I still love it to death tho and I'm determined to eventually get it to excellent condition.

the first car i helped build with the intent to own was a ZH fairlane .. Big - midnight blue, 351 clevo,c10, and 9 inch diff - total pimp cruiser with balls - but no handling Had seats larger and more comfortable than armchairs and could fir 2 guys in the boot - 4 in the backseat and 3 up front - comfortably !
Total Aussie tank .. Christened the bitch , because it was a bitch not to wheelspin on takeoff .
the first car i owned and built up myself was my muchly missed 1971 ta22 - christened " the pig " I MISS IT HEAPS!
passed on from my gran - i learned to drive in it - as did my brother .. it provided our fasmily and them me with nearly over 10 years of trouble free motoring , and in the end - it was a red monster
Now - got the St185 Gt4 - hoping to tread in the path the ta22 blazed Power to the celicas !

1992 Camry SV21, it handles like a rock, but has about as many mechanical problems as one, plus i get great fuel economy (9.5l/100km), if you are sick of public transport and looking for a good cheap, reliable, medium sized daily driver then i would sugest a Camry.
