My 4.5 litre landcruiser powered Crown is registered and was out on the road on the weekend. It doesn't really matter what gear it's in as it just pulls anyway. The A340 supra trans feels strong and has shown no signs of slipping as yet, while the 2800-3000 stall converter (supra back with reverse bladed pajero front) feels right on the money (max torque at 3600-power at 4600). Stalling it up and letting it off the brake just results in massive wheel spin (even with the welded centre), but next weekend I plan to to try out my 10 inch McReary tyres out to see exactly how hard it can launch. First victim was a WRX that wanted to run from a rolling start at about 50 kph. He hit the picks and bailed around a corner when I was about 25m in front by about 100. Although the fuel maps are pretty good, the ignition maps are still pretty rough and ready and another couple of hours on the road will be needed to get them up to scratch and have the motor happy over 4500 or so.
The turbo conversion will start this week with the plates coming back from the laser cutters by early next week hopefully. Considering how traction challenged it is off the line without a turbo,I can foresee some serious fun happening once the blower goes on.
