mounting gauges

okay everyone, i want some opinions and some facts:
im going to be mounting a boost gauge in my ma61- i was thinking on the A pillar, as i reckon that looks decent and practical. i dont really like extra gauges, but hey, a boost gauge can only be a good thing if im making an oddball hybrid that could blow up at the drop of a hat
where do the rest of you guys have your gauges mounted? anyone use those moulded cup holder thingies, or do people just stick em on?
coz id like to keep my ma61 without holes if possible....
cheers yall

i too have the "no holes" dilemma
i have oil press and oil temp gauges i wanna mount but i dont wanna cut holes, so im making a little bracket to mount to the interior screws under the left hand side of the steering column
it will "do" i spose
a pillar is gay imo

I had this dillema as well when I was putting a UHF in (not gauges, but same principle).
I didn't want to cut or drill anything as I always wanted to be able to take the thing out and not have the car look like it's full of holes. The simple solution was to figure out where I wanted to mount each part, and then get replacement trim panels from a wrecker.
That way you can cut/drill to your heart's content, and if you get sick of it later on and/or just want to return it to the stocker look, it's dead simple to remove and replace with the original trims..
(just a thought)

Hard question.......I believe the only place for extra guages in a MA61 is where the stereo goes..Guages don`t belong on the A pillar...It looks crap and only ricers and people who think they have a 1000 HP engine do this!!!
just my 2 cents.

on an ma61, either go for off the side of the cruise control/oil counter, or on the a-pillar.
I mounted mine on the a-pillar, and the "holes" it left were basically 2 1mm tears in the vinyl covering, which you cant see unless you know where to look
one of the aircon vents would also be a good idea
