My car has a rattling noise on overun and sounds like it is coming from the supercharger. What type of noise does it make when the teflon coatings on the vanes have melted? Could it just be that the magnetic clutch on the supercharger is rooted? Has anyone had similar problems? I am unable to tell whether the noise is made when the supercharger is engaged or unengaged. If it's doing it all the time then it's a pretty good bet it's a pulley/clutch. Only engaged, more expensive. [Report message to a moderator]

Its not making the noise all of the time. And we are now pretty sure that the Teflon coating coating has melted. Hmmmmm... 4AGTE... [Report message to a moderator]

A rattling noise may well be the bearings, I killed one after I tried running a locked clutch for a while... [Report message to a moderator]
