Hey guys im new to this forum. I just got a problem which has been bugging me for a while. When i turn the car on my idle is way to high it will sit on about 1600+ it varies. I was told toyotas are common of this untill the engine warms up. But my idle can stay on that rev for a good hour or so. Then after the engine is really warm , or i give it a bit it will drop to about 900-1000.
The other thing is when the idle is that high I get this really loud rattling noise comming from the engine bay somewhere and it is very annoying especially at the lights. And finally on a normal/hot day my car will start first go, but at night/cold day my car will not kick in first go, but guranteed it will start second time i turn the key?? what could this be? the starter motor?
Any ideas? BTW i forgot to meantion the car is a 87 Camry EFI
