jzz30 Occasional Poster Location: Perth Registered: April 2003	Replacing Valve guides/Stem seals - 1JZ-GTE Sat, 27 March 2004 04:56 Hi guys n gals I have a 126,000km 1JZ-GTE behind a A340E auto trans thats smoking under high vacuum, leading me to believe my valve stem seals are worn... My turbos are blowing no oil out (brand new high flowed CT12s) and the intercooler is clean, so i'm 99% sure its the valve seals... Is it possible to replace the valve seals without removing the head? I've been told this is possible using a few neat tricks, but everyone has been unsure on the 1JZ, and every mechanic I've spoken to has been unkeen to give it a shot... Anyone done this before?
