3TGTEU Compression test results. Mon, 29 March 2004 03:48 Go to previous message
Here are the results of the compression test i just done on my 3tgte, car has done 214,000km but at some stage had a rebuild, what sorta compressions should one expect on a rebuilt/fresher engine?

It has relitivly wild cams also(wont idle below 1000rpm), will these effect compressions?

Cylinder 1 = 145psi
Cylinder 2 = 145psi
Cylinder 3 = 147psi
Cylinder 4 = 145psi

I did the test cause after putting the t3 rb20det turbo on i had a little overboosting(12psi) accident(stock pistons) - and thought i had better check things out.

test was done straight after about 1/2hour of spireted street driving.
