and I was surprised by the teensy size of the exhaust ports ! not to mention the exhaust manifold to the turbo. The stock exhause manifold even has welded in expansion joints (dont know if this is unusual) I assume the turbo is another CT26 incarnation? - non twin entry, but the manifold at least joins the 3 tp 6 cyls directly before the exhaust wheel. Sorry I didnt snap a pic, but the opportunity is still available for tomorrow-ish.
To me it seems this engine has heaps of potential, but is factory tailored for more sedate duties. Cant wait to unleash the beast in such a light car!
It's almost as if the std exhaust manifold is a factory restrictor (or perhaps it explains that meaty 380nm+something of low-down torque?) Hopefully we can get the bitch going in stock trim, im really keen to see how toyotas late model (well later than anything i usually play with) stock engines perform...
