sprinter ignition barrel prob

my sprinters ingnition barrel has decided to die and i now cannot turn the key past half way between lock and acc but just enough to take the steering lock off. so i assume its time for a new one, what im wondering is if its posible to get a new barrel modified to suit my old key (like you do when keying your house alike)or am i stuck with one key to get into the car and one to start it?
also is it tricky to swap the barrel?
