i dont think that the 2T-GEU was in the TA22/23.

It WAS in the TE51, and TE72 levins....

I believe it was also used in the TA6x Celica, and probably various Carinas, Coronas and other smallish JDM cars in the early 80's.

Good point...
I thought they rallied TE-27s with fuel injection, this was back in the day when rally cars had to have some link to road cars?

They only ever had carbs in the TA22's, not EFI. They were standard fittings in later model Celicas (TA45 on), and Corollas (Te51/71 (?) on).

They did. It was a mechanical custom setup (by Denso I think?) which was not fitted to road cars. The TE27 rally motor was still similar to the street TE27 (2T-G).

on the subject, i picked up a 2T with twin carbs and a T50 last weekend for my TA23. i've got no idea what it came out of or exactly what type of 2T it is, how do i tell? it didn't come out of a pre 77 celica cause the mounts that were on it were wider than my stock ones.

cheers
Matt
