Anyone who say the footage of the 1st round of the ARC on Sunday 17th April will know that Simon Evans in the "Sportivo Corolla" (its actually an ST205 GT4 underneath) won after a WRX was excluded for illegal brake mods.
Neal Bates was 3rd.
Therefore, Simon Evans is leading the championship, & Toyota leading manufacturers championship.
The Corollas were deemed eligible to compete in the upcoming Rally of Canberra on 8th & 9th of May, but as this was announced after Toyota Team Racing had decided on their budget for the year, so it is yet unknown whether Neal will compete in his home event.
The Rally of Canberra is a round of the FIA Asia-Pacific Championship, not the Australian Driver's Championship, hence the problem with eligilbilty as the Group N P (Prototype) class is unique to Oz.
The ROC is a round of the Aust Manufacturers Championship which used to hinder Toyota significantly.
