I went to get a new filter from toyota today & the spare parts bloke gives me this one(90915-yzze1) he says its the one i need for my RWD 4age. I point out to him that on the box it lists its for E,A,S, & k series except 4ag & 3sgte. He says just ignore that.
Should i be using this filter?
couldnt find it listed in any searches

You want the c4 if you are going genuine.
Is it worth springing for the genuine filter over the ryco? What's it got that the ryco doesnt?

would there be a problem using this filter?
What is the difference in the filters? I assume it just the size
The older bloke behind trhe counter said he had been selling toyota parts for 30 years and knew which one to use. Even though i pointed out it said except 4ag on the box

Can you not use the Z158 on the RWD? The 4ages originally came with a Z158 (I know blue top did at least). Then when things became more cramped they moved to the Z386..both fit though z386 has less capacity (also fits my friends charade ). I rather using the large Z158. I think Rycos are good. I use Coopers as I can get them for about 6 bucks each. I've heard they're about as good as the Rycos (most mechanics use them..probably mainly because they can get them at a good price though).
There was some dude that did a study on the oil filters using mazda v6 as test engine (on internet though) and found the ryco and coopers to be as good if not better than genuines (wasn't incredibly scientific though. I'm only being a parrot and resaying what other people have said though.

depends how close you make it sit to the motor..
On mine i managed to fit the big one but it was an asshole to change..
Using the smaller one now see how that goes..
