Right, firstly i know people are going to say just get a halfcut etc etc.But i don't want to do that,i'm only looking for a mild power upgrade.
so here goes.I'm going to use a GREDDY E-MANAGE piggyback ecu,the factory turbo manifold and ct26 turbo.I'm buying a hks z32 intercooler,it's thick as buggery and will keep inlet temps down heaps.I'm going to change engine lids to the mr2 turbo type(they have raised fins for better cooling)and then i can install two thermo fans underneath the lid as well.I'm getting a hks super dragger cat back exhaust and a new front section made up from the turbo to the cat.The clutch and brakes are getting upgraded this friday to much stronger items as well.
Now on paper this sounds theoritically like it will work. Now my questions for fellow toymodders and mechanics out there are
1.Will i need to change the map sensor to a 2bar type so that the ecu can read that my engine is making boost
2.Will i need to change the ignition setup, what i mean is,can i use the current spark plugs in the 3sge or will i need to run a hotter or colder plug, and can i use the standard ignition from the 3sge or should i upgrade to a MSD or CRANE CAMS unit.
3.I have a busted 3sgte from a st162 celica(i think it's a st162),it's spun a bearing,so will the forged pistons,rods etc swap oveinto my 3sge??
4.Will the head/inlet manifold/injectors etc change over from this 3sgte as well
5.Will i need a higher flowing fuel pump
6.Finally if i can't change the parts from the 3sgte to my 3sge(pistons,rods,head etc etc) what would be a safe boost level to run 6psi,8psi ????
Cheers And thanking you all Adrian
