Gear shifter - K50/40 and early T50

Do they share the same gear shifter mechanism? I've heard rumours they do, and I've located a short shifter for a K40/50, would like to know if it'll work with my Celica TA22 T50...
Any ideas?

My KE70 5spd(k50) was the exact same as my AE71 5 spd if that helps
|

Interesting... The AE71 T50's are different to the TA22 T50's (as far as gear shifters go)...
The short shift kit I've located is out of a KE25 K40... Hmm...

KE70 is different to the KE25 box too.

early k50/40 have different shifters to celica T50's
