3s-ge vs 3s-gte into RA2x

Hi,
First of all can anyone tell me if the latest celicas come with the 3s-ge vvti motors?
Second can anyone offer some experience on these engines? I can get a front cut celica (late model) for about $800 and I want to see it is possible to fit that into an RA2x celica, and what needs to be done.
Thirdly are there many differences between the 3s-ge and 3s-gte bottom end (I understand that there is no vvti 3s-gte, is that right?)
Lastly, you reckon this would be a good mod or a waste of time and money. 200hp sounds pretty good in an RA2x but I will want more one day with some forced intake so what needs to be done and how far can you take these babies on a mid-budget?
