Hi I'm new to the site and would like to say it's very informative.
After reading the Rules Ice done a search and cannot find any info on the following topic.
We have an AE82 4AC corolla and in an effort to replace the outer r/h CV boot I have found some confusing info.
My reference is Max Ellerys'Workshop Manual which lists C40,C50,C52,C140,C150 and a S50 gearboxes.
It also shows 2 types of drive shafts,4AGE and 1C has a removable diff spline shaft from tulip joint, whilst the others use one where the diff spline shaft and tulip joint are one piece.
Using the above info we have twin cam drive shafts fitted and an S50 gearbox. When I purchased the CV boot we checked both SOHC and DOHC variants and the DOHC was correct (drive shaft at wheel 27mm).
Where all AE82s fitted with the twin cam drive-shafts?
Does anyone know anything about the S50 gearbox cause I can't find anything on the net , even toyota had know idea? By the way this gearbox supposedly uses dextron II oil (auto fluid.
Does this mean the twin-cam will bolt straight up, as the drive train appears to be twin-cam?
twin-cam being 4AGE not the one in AE90 with the 2 cams driven of intermeshed gears.
