4AGE Blowing Smoke + Chewing Oil

Hey Ppls,
My 4age is blowing smoke at startup (valve stem seals), it also blows the same bluish colored smoken when revving it up.
3000km after an oil change there was no oil (i.e. right on the tip of the dipstick) left.
And the engine stutters/pops under load (and when reving it too but not so bad) if its been idling for a little while.
Any ideas?

blue smoke on revs/load would suggest rings on way out
... loosing >1 litre of oil after 3k confirms this
the popping/backfiring under load is probably plugs or leads 0- suggest checking to confirm (probably gunked up with oil or simply old+tired).
rebuild or at least refresh+rings time

hmm the blue smoke should be fixed by replacing the valve steam seals it should stop consuming so much oil if theres nothing else wrong(hope not) as for the the motor poping and stuttering underload it may need a tune it sounds like it maybe starving for fuel by what you have said. check that theres no blockages at the fuel pump, filter, lines etc

Hey Dude,
Ive spoken to my mechanic and he also thinks its the rings... And a compression check has not garuntee of proving it as the compression rings could be fine...
Im buying a second block and rebuilding it. Nothing special just replacing the rings, bearings, giving it a clean and machining where required... Might have the comp bumped up a wee bit too...
So it looks like a rebuild of some sort for the both of us...
And those vids look nasty! Mines nowhere near that bad, but a VN SS gave me a run for my money so tis time to get my power back
