timing light help

Hi, i borrowed a timing light off a friend, and instead of having the two power clamps and the special connection to stick on the spark plug lead, it's got two other wires that just have a hollow circular metal piece sticking out the end, they are both similar but slightly different. How do i hook this up to my spark lead so i can read my timing? Thanks for the help guys
