DIY differential change? Tue, 08 June 2004 04:48 Go to previous message
hi guys

my car has become a lemon and i was wondering if i could change diffs without having to get it towed to a workshop.

i'm going from drum to discs and have an apparent 'bolt-on' diff waiting for me.

i'm not really familiar with differentials, but i have a basic idea on what is what - but i'm just wondering what to remove first and is it possible to do at home/one man job?

what im really confused is how to remove the input shaft from the final gear, and how would i load in the diff oil.

any info appreciated!
