Hey Guys, if you dont know i have a MS85 Crown, i was flipping through the Owners Manual the other day and i came across that these crowns had 5R (2000cc) engines in them, now i wonder if they would be any good, does anyone own a crown with one in them? my thoughts would be it would be pretty damn gutless wouldnt you think? if anyone has any information on these engines that they would like to share would be appriciated

The 5R is an old 2 litre 4 cylinder pushrod motor. Older ones had 3 mains cranks and later ones had 5 mains cranks. I have never seen an RS85 but I suspect it probably had the 5 mains crank motor.
They are pretty gutless and were only ever made to sneak the big old Crowns in under some wacko 2 litre luxury car tax law. I have driven an RS50 and it was pretty ghey.
