20v vvti wiring voltage

i was just wanting to ask a quick question, has anyone tested the voltage of the vvt soliniod on a silvertop, the reason i ask is that i am currently transplanting a silvertop into a suzuki sierra and i have been told that they may run on 5 volts or 12v but i need to no to wire the system correctly
