Conversion Pros & Cons Tue, 06 July 2004 01:41 Go to previous message
G'day, all.

My "mighty" 4AFC is still going, but the smell of change is in the air. I keep reminding myself that the 'Rolla (AE92) was bought as a runabout, but the bogan inside can't resist Wink

I'm never one to go with the crowd, and, while I like the power/torque seduction of a GZE, I was thinking of going the modified AGE-route, thus incurring fewer insurance & conversion hassles, etc....when saying AGE, I mean the Billzilla style mods, 260 cams, etc..this'll also give me the time (and money!) to build the engine separately, while still getting the last legs out of the AFC.

Anyhow, given mine is carby at the mo', can I build a carby AGE, and still be within engineering approvals? Also, what are the forseeable difficulties in this conversion? For example, I'd like to keep PS and AC....

In the end, it may well be a waste of time, but I'd like some input, especially from those in the know.

Cheers,

Rick
