Internet Speed Question

Heya well i just started using the firefox browser and i noticed when i download things the speeds starts at 20kbps and then eventualy drops down to 5kbs (oh i have shitty 56k) but i was wondering if it can down at that speed for like 3secs why cant it always stay that fast??? if it can do it why dosnt it???

From memory it downloads the file header before you click the save button, it counts this as part of the file, but doesn't start the clock till after you hit save...this creates a false reading for the first few seconds...
same thing happens on broadband, just at higher speeds.

damn!! well i have a cable modem, and foxtel hole in the wall, anyone wanna give me thier cable settings ect...

i'd rather not, i'm always logon, even when the computer turned off!!! if you feel like it there are many internet speed test sites on the net.

expect your b/band provider's help desk to be useless.

If your using 56K  , i think that the phone lines can only handle like 7 or 8kbps.
Just get ADSL or Cable
