Few questions about OZ

Hi !
My name is vicek I come from Poland.
I am in Corolla Club Organisation in my Country.
For Corollas 97-99 we had mostly 4E-FE Engines and some 4A-FE.
The idea is to buy somewhere in Australia complete set of 4A-GE 20V Blacktop to my country. How many octane is petrol in Australia? Because if in Poland we have 90 octane (real) - so maybe there will be no posibility to reach that 165 HP that comes with 4AGE 20V Blacktop with Oz Petrol.
Ok, sorry about my English, Iam still learning. Arrived 6 mkoths ago with basicly no english.
And I hope I do not make any mess on Forum, I will have some more questions in future so I can use this topic. Thanks for not-blocking it.
Thanx for answers,
vicek

Hi Vicek
In Australia, you can get a number of different fuels, and this also depends on what state you are in. Here in Queensland, the best two are BP Ultimate and Shell Optimax which are around 98 octane. Traditional "Premium" Unleaded fuel which you can get from most service stations is generally around 95 octane, with traditional "Unleaded" fuel being in the low 90's.
Personally I wouldn't run any car on anything less than premium unleaded, and if it was high performance or turbo then definitely I would choose one of the 98 octane fuels.
The 20v is a nice engine, however the 4AGZE is definitely the better engine. On paper the power figures are similar, but the performance of the 4AGZE is far superior.
Also, please be careful who you take advice from as it is not always correct!
Regards
Leigh

Grrr trying to take our engine from our country! We need every 4AGZE we can get, these babies are not easy to get hold of and are becoming more expensive. Please don't take our valued motors away

Get a 4agze much better than 20v silvertop & blacktop, thats my opinion.

This has been said a million times there is no better or worse engine it really depends on what u want the motor for...
drag - 4agze = torque
track - 20v = very revy
i have had both of these motors i belive they cant be compared it depends on what you want the motor for either way both are one of the best 1.6 motors on the market to date.
