Noise coming from wheel...

Now i got another problem,
on a 1986 celica SX...
When i've got my foot on the clutch it won't make this noise, but when i'm accelerating i'll hear this knocking sound, I went to ultra tune to check to see if they could find out what it was, he took it for a small test drive and told me its the wheel bearings on the left side. Will this be expensive to get fixed? I was goin to get one of the mechanics from toyota where i work to fix it for me, i'm just a bit worried about the price.
When u take off the wheel, the rotor moves around a bit forward and back.
Got any ideas??
