18r-g has NO GO!!

My 18r-gu...up until recently i belived that it went really well. It runs like a dream. Idles beatufully and sounds awesome. Then the other night i went for a ride in a mates ta22 with 2tg in it. The 2tg was standard exept being recently dino tuned and the carbs re-jetted or something. That car had so much pull. The pickup left mine for dead. I was back in my seat n shit. Can anyone give any ideas why? could it just be the carbs> even tho it runs great?
i have 150 psi across all cylinders..so thats ok?
im quite annoyed now..that i get owned by a standard 2tg against my 18r-gu. Is that normal?
