MA61 14*7 rims on a Celica ... Sun, 01 August 2004 14:14 Go to next message
Hi guys, I have a set of these rims and was wondering since there are a couple of you celica boys running these rims on your ra65s, what tyres do you use for these rims ?

I just wanna get an idea ... also the cost of the tyres u use for these rims would be great too (that's if you purchased some recently!)

Lez
Thanks

I have 205/60/14s on mine. Not the easiest size to get in a performance tyre anymore. Anyway, I got that size becuase I didn't want them to rub (1" lowered) and for a straight sidewall.

Personallyu, I think the car looks undertyred, and 215s would be a better bet IMO. I can take pics if you like.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Toyo... 600F3s I think they are. Were 135 a corner. Good tyres, but squeel a bit (might just be the way I drive)

Sometimes it's hard to drive - but I'm pretty sure that's because of being lowered without RCAs and the steerign geometry being wrong.

Shit yeah - non P/S A6s are RARE

No problems at all, and that's lowered 1" w/ Kings springs. It is a bit heavy sometimes to park, but that's it. Sorry i haven't been able to get pics yet - I will this weekend for you Smile

Try increasing your tyre pressures a little bit.

I run between 34-36 Smile You're right though, my memory of them squeeling a lot was when they were first put on and only around 30-32.

205/70 sounds like a tall profile, Viper. Were you running stock springs? I'm thinking that bouncy soft springs would be worse for clearance than stiff lower ones.

Les, wait until I show you more pics, okay? I'll get them for you tommorow. I really think you might want something a tad wider, they just look wrong from most angles except face on like I showed you.

I got them from Dowling McCarthy (not sure if this is a mainland chain or not) but there weren't many left anywhere in that size, and this was some time ago. Work out what size you want, then ring up a lot of tyre shops and ask what they recommend. Only reason I went there was because my local shop didn't really sell toyos.

Second that. I'm after 205/60R14 for my MA61 wheels on TA22 and there's not a lot out there.

Nankang EX601
Yokohama S306
Sumitomo HTR200

um, Toyo RA1 (205/55R14) but now you're talking motorsport tyres.

The camber of the road means that the wheel-fender gap is a bit smaller on the left side and a bit bigger on the right side, but I'm sure you'll get the idea. Hope this helps you choosing tyres - if they'res anyhting else you need, LMK.

Yeah, though might use 195/60R14 to get Yokohama A539s.

What did you find though?
