Another 18 r-c thread- help..... Wed, 11 August 2004 12:45 Go to previous message
Hey all, I'm after some advice.

I've just changed the entire timing setup on my 18rc- tensioners, chains, guides ect and I'm still getting a disconcerting noise from the timing case at around 1000-1500rpm.

The old girl idles smooth around 450-500rpm, and there is no trace of this noise below 900prm.

I've done a search here already, and the only advice I've managed to discern is "dump it for a 1g".

well, that may be the case, but as I need this car to gain a RWC soon, its out of the question.

I know that almost every 18rc owner has had a similar problem, so how should I fix it? Is there something I've overlooked?

thanks for your help.

M.
