I found some info that was VERY helpful to me.
Hopefully it can help some of you too.

This is probably only useful to AE86 JDM owners though.

The link contains some methods of telling the zenki and kouki axles apart.

PS: a little birdie told me u can use a shortened AE95 corolla sr5 wagon 4x4 (not tercel) rear axle as a replacement for a kouki axle.
I will try this and let u know how it goes.
