Lol, the turbo off my M-TEU is shagged, it had about 2mm end play, and also didn't spin freely, so I decided to take it apart 
The oil galleries were filled with cooked (is coked the correct word?) oil, and it looks like the exhaust bush has let go, also both wheels look like they have made friends with the housing, and the shaft isn't straight. worst turbo ever 
Also the wastegate actuator had a hole rusted in it, not sure if this cause the turbo to over speed, or if the hole rusted in later.

The plan now is to make a 3D picture of a disassembled turbo and stick it on the wall
