no suspension travel

ive got lowered springs in my TA22, not mega low, i think about an inch or so under stock. when the suspension is at full droop, the springs in the rear are a bit sloppy in their mounts, ie. i can almost pull them out of the car by hand.
the rear suspension only has about 3cm of droop in it, that is to say, if i jack up the back of the car and let it down onto chassis stands, the wheels only droop ~3cm when i take the jack out from under the diff.
i have K-Mac shocks and the above mentioned springs are K-mac also, and the bushes are all nolathane.
idealy id want the car to go about another inch or so lower at the back than it currently is, (2" lower than stock) but i'm worried that this lack of travel might be fucking up the roadholding ability.
will shorter stroke shock absorbers help fix these problems? if so, any recomended units/part numbers?
if not, what could i do?
