hey there,
do anyone know if i can replace my clutch slave cylinder with any other ones? eg aussie model aw11, ae82 etc....
mine is busted right now and im unsure which is the best option
-second hand from wreckers for a SC aw11 is 45 bucks with 1 month warranty
-brand new aussie model from autoone over 100 bucks but not sure if same as mine
-repair kit from repco to suit aussie model is 15 bucks but not sure if its same as mine, plus i never rebuild one before
what should i do, i want car running by tomorrow

PBR make all clutch and brake components.
Maybe they have a head office?
Or call nearest Brake and Clutch specialist
You still haven't told us what car/gbox you have

Or, take a photo of it (if you cant drive the car) and show it to a brake/clutch specialist

why does everyone always go to the big stores for parts? they are always the most expensive! try your local auto store, where in syd are you? theres universal spares in belmore, its rare that anyone is cheaper than them.
also if your local is asian (no offence to anyone just my experiences) then they are usually pretty cheap, my local is asian (ex mechanic) and i never find anyone cheaper than him and he always offers good advise from his experiences
to rebuild the slave is easy, all you do is take it off and where the oil feed is just get a blow gun and blow air in to pop the thing in there out. change the rubber seal, use a rag to clean the inside of the cylinder and then push the thing back in all the way. put the rod back in and the rubber cover and bobs your uncle

$15 damn, are you sure thats not just the rebuild kit?
You may have to get the cylinder honed too dependent on wear.

Yeah, pretty sure, maybe have been $25, but definately no more than that.
New master was $40 too.
No leaking for me! (I have other issues with it all though)
