Looking for an EOI in a group buy of halogen headlamps
Size is 178mm (ie. 7") to suit first-gen Celicas
Also suits many other cars with 7" lamps (ie. <KE1#, KE2#, KE3# Corollas?).

RRP ~$150 per kit (ie. two lights) with 55W/60W globes,OR
RRP ~$55 each (ie. one light) so 55x2=110.

Can you please explain this a little more clearly?
The $150 kit has two lights with 55w/60w globes.
One light is $55(without globe?). So $110 for 2 single lights. They must be damm good globes for $40 a pair?

Or am I missing something?

Roadrunner: They take H4s. Not sure about interchangeability of H4 with H7. RE: Timeframe; this will not take long to execute pending interest and expediency on the part of any buyers. I'm waiting on my lamps from this too. With some interest the price can be good for everyone.

djbourboncan: Hello! These lamps are in kit form providing all you need for switchable high/low including high/low bulbs 55W/60W globes. If you like you could order two pairs and replace the inboard side with single-stage globes for high-beam use only.

Cool1: Sorry, I was mistaken. Retail is approximately $80 per lamp insert, or $150 per pair in kit form with globes. These are supplied with globes for $60/pair, approximately 35% of RRP..

I believe the $55 per lamp insert quoted above is the wholesale or 'buy' price of the lamp, not the RRP.

I'll update the first post.

i priced these from auto-one and my local sparky at $80-88 each lense (these have the parker lights), with no globes..
OR around $200 for the conversion kit, which has 2x1056 lenses (no parkers) and 2x55/60 globes.
i didn't price the 1056 lenses individually, but i think they'd be a fraction cheaper....

5604 with 55/60W globes and rubbers $130(pair)

So basically you're saying $130 vs. $60, so closer to 55% discount than 65%.

Thanks for your input as it's good to be clear about the retail value of the lamps; everyone I talk to quotes different prices. I think the basic premise is they'll be a whole heap cheaper than retail (ie. equal to or less than half price).

Note that the inserts on offer for $60/pair also have the facility for integrated parking lamps (unlike the 5604 kit above). Of course you could take the $60 and go a 33% share in one Cibie insert if you like...

Any definate interest? Roadrunner, djburboncan, munki, stylez?

The 1058 for $58 I listed above have the parker lights intergrated. This price is for singles as I havent asked for a quanity discount. Also remember you will need the rubbers other wise the lights will become full of dust.

Correct on all counts. Your quote on part number 1058 (as specified in the thread title) does not include rubbers or globes and you sell for $58 before volume discount.

These lamps include the rubber boots and globes as required and sell for $60 (basically your single price) for a pair.

I apologise for my failure to indicate that the lamps include rubber boots and have again edited the above post to correct my omission??

Bottom line: You're getting the contents of the kit 5604, but with 1058 inserts rather than 1056 inserts. It will cost $60 instead of $150 through AutObarn or $130 through Cool1.Cool cool??

Perhaps my first thread was not clear enough,
now that we have discussed all about the contents of the kit and the different prices available,
I have consolidated all the information here into a thread where people can post if they actually want some!

Thanks all for the input.

Ok just out of interest I've heard that to place halogen bulb in the Old celica that you have to run the current system through relays other wise the lights switching is reversed.
Is this correct?

A relay can be used to prevent damage caused by excessive current draw of high-wattage globes.

I can't see the relevance of a relay in reverse switching of lights as you've suggested, probably Cool1 can clarify when he replies?
