Mark II Corona Seat Conundrum Tue, 07 September 2004 23:25 Go to next message
i drove my recently purchased MX23 corona to work this morning and well, the seats are bloody uncomfortable!!

problem here is they look too cool to replace, so i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how i go about getting a set of good bucket seats in without ruining the grandpa stealth look of the car.

the only thing ive come up with is buying some good seats but covering them with grandpa spec sheapskin covers.

heres a pic of the seats, how do i maintain this level of coolness but have comfortable seats?

They look like pretty much any car seat from the 70's?

Well if you really want to keep them I suppose you could take them to an auto upholsterer and get them re-padded... not sure how effective this would be though.

Or maybe get some aftermarket seats re-trimmed in cheap black vinyl? Laughing

I wondered when Rob would reveal mk2poo.. Cool nice black interior..as for the seats...the "button" in the middle of the back seat shits me but thats part of the era so what can you do..I think the owner of my old blue mk2 had a sweet set of seat covers and I will try and find what they were,,,they were plain and dark with just a piping on the edges...you could of course go HUGE fluffy sheepskin covers.. Cool
