Can you fit the Gen3 Turbos on a Gen 2 engine. If yes whats involved in doing so. I know they are diffrent on the exaust/dump pipe side of it? Does anyone know if these are actually better turbos then Gen2?

Do a search, there is a thread which lists the differences, and YES some are relivent to you doing such a change.

NO THEY WILL NOT FIT as a direct replacement! The gen 3 turbos have a larger outlet on the compressor cover - 'spose this means they have a larger wheel and can flow more. You will need the outlet pipes from a gen 3 engine as the bolt up is very different. Whether they will give improved performance I do not known as the exhaust manifold for a gen 3 is also different from a gen2 (looks like it has less obstrustion). I also understand that from the factory a gen2 runs 9psi and a gen3 11psi.

We have swapped a twin to single turbo bridging manifold which was built for a gen 1 onto a gen 3 and it went on without any problems. So i think you shall find that they will bolt to the zorst manifold no probs.

I did a write up on the differences some time back, see this link
Essentially the exhaust side is all the same and the inlet is different. They will bolt up so long as you get the cast alloy pipes on the AFM side of the compressor. All the coolant and oil lines are the same, so no worries there either.
The gen3 turbos seem a bit wider, so if your rear turbo is close to your steering box or master cylinder it may cause issues. i didn't notice this until I bolted them in and couldn't get a heat shield on.

Fortunately mine had enough clearance to squeeze in a shield I made from tin plate. If yours is closer then best of luck to ya.
