I need an engine for a 1982 Toyota Soarer.
I need to know what sort of engine is going to be compatable without doing a conversion which will inevabtbly be too expensive.
It's a
1982 Toyota Soarer
Japanese Import
Model: E-M210
Engine: M-TEU
Frame: MZ10
Colour: White
Transmission: 4-speed auto
I need to know what sort of engine will fit in without many other parts?
I'm assuming only the M series engines will fit?
5M-GEU
M-TEU
1G-EU
1G-GEU
6M-GEU
7M-GTEU
7M-GEU
1G-GTEU
1G-GEU
what engine is going to go in without a conversion? Are there any additional parts that need to come with the engine to make it compatable without a total conversion?
I need to find an engine guys, I'll put this post in the classified for wanted parts as well.
Does anyone have one or know a good wreckers where I could pick one up for cheap? Absolutely any information on this topic would be useful.
As you can see, I'm not very sure on the idea, so any thoughts or ideas would be helpful...
Thanks guys.
If anyone is wondering, the pics of my car will be up within 3 days of this post.
Thanks again,
Brad.

I have an almost complete mteu that needs a rebuild if that interests you?
Also another thing to add to the list as an easy drop in is a 5M-E.

Not sure exactly what needs doing to it. I pulled it from a car I wrecked, mainly for the turbo (which was totally shagged btw).
I did a compression test and it was quite even across all cylinders, but can't remember what psi reading it was (think it was a little low, and came up a fair bit when tested wet).
Also it doesn't have the M-TEU dizzy. Prbly only a good idea if you want a block to rebuild and have the rest of the stuff already to bolt on.
Make an offer if you want?
Cheers

yeah? I think i've seen a pic of your M-TEU in a previous post somewhere....
I ran mine on no oil a couple of weeks ago and the bearings are screwed and i have scored the crank shaft...so i guess mine is in need of a rebuild too,
only problem is, unlike u guys, i have NO idea how to do so! lol.
all i know is i've fucked my engine and have been told its cheaper to find another M-TEU instead of replacing bearings etc.. do you agree? how much do you reckon a rebuild on yours would be if i took it to some schmoe mechanic? best i could offer u at this point in time would be like....$300?
cheers wilbo.
