I've decided to take the plunge & bolt up a supra 5spd behind my 4A-GE, rather than rebuild the T50 only to have to upgrade when I eventually get my turbo plans underway.
What I'd like to know relates to the extra parts available available from Dellow to make the conversion possible. I guess I'll get the clutch plate for 100 bucks, but the other bits I'm not too sure about. I know there's a few of us turboing our 4As, so someone must have just been through this whole deal recently.
First of all, what's a pilot bush?? Do they mean pilot bearing?
The guy at dellow said the clutch fork is custom, & the original supra one won't fit. Is this true?
Thrust race & carrier, is this the same story?
Pffft, 100 brass beans for a tailshaft yoke, you gotta be kidding!
Speedo cable..... I imagine I'd need to get this one. What's the difference, just length?
Slave cylinder & adjustable pushrod, what sort of slave cylinder is it? And how long & adjustable is the pushrod?
Speedo angle drive, is this an angled fitting or something? Necessary?
Thanks heaps for any help you can provide, I don't want to have to pay up to 1000 bucks for the whole kit & kaboodle.
BTW, if anyone wants I have a price list from Dellow for their bellhousing & parts for a supra 5 speed to 4A-GE conversion.
And another thing, I got in touch with the Castlemaine Rod shop about the same bellhousing, & they said they'd need a 4A block & supra box, & would charge $50 per hour to make it.
