- remove cover behind front wheel
- stick your head under and check but i think there should be a nut you unscrew and everything comes apart
i took mine out like 4yrs ago so i aint 100% sure other than to remove cover 
ended up replacing mine with an automatic one... its sooooooooo SWEEEEEEEEEET now

well it depends, if the covers 3 screws are accessible from behind the wheel (as it should be) then no...
but you might find that the bottom screw maybe the opposite direction than the others in which case you would.
