They used to run tanks and trucks on a vodka mix late in WW2 in Russia.

Starts on diesel, runs on oil... is this bringing back the bad old days of petrol/kero??
I can also say that I know the bloke responsible for running the garbage trucks in Mt. Isa on a (relatively mild) blend of cooking oil with good results. Smells good, too!

the thing about cooking oil is u need to put in some chemicals to stop it from drying/ turning into a solid, or lumpy goop really.
that means u have to prepare it, by heating it and adding the chemicals etc etc etc
still sounds pretty cool tho.

hehe! I can just picture you sneaking around takeaway shops at night, looking for those big cooking oil tins out the back! Just make sure you don't pick up any with used oil. Maybe Takeaway shops would make more money selling their fryer oil than fish n' chips.
