metal in gearbox? Fri, 11 October 2002 02:16 Go to previous message
hi my sister has a ae93 seca, 89 model i think. we just replaced the started motor as a piece/shard of metal stuffed it up. people who fixed the starter motor reckon that there is metal shards that have come off the flywheel. and are sitting in between engine and gear box. anyway is there a rock cover on the gearbox on the 4afe motor? as i wanna clean out the metal before a shard jamms between the clutch plate or worse?

also can you get the gear box out without having to pull the whole engine out? dont really want to split the engine/gearbox if i dont have too, but i think we might.

any help would be appreciated or advice on similar problems
