Currently I am *still* polishing my MA61 Rims, I have done everything, paint stripper to get the clear coat off then the sand paper 400, 620, 1200 grit paper, hand sandered off the machining lines off the rim and still I can't get it to shine after using Mothers Mag wheel polish cream...
So don't go down my path. Get a professional to make those wheels shine, it may be expensive but less frustrating. PM Classique71 has he had done it to his MA61 wheels before selling them *I think*.
Cheers.

Hi,
Well, I got my Soarer wheels polished (15 x 6), and fairly similar in design to the 14x7 Supra wheels. And, I gotta tell you it ain't cheap by any means if you want a good job. Here's a pic of the wheels for you to have a gander at...
The quotes I got were over $300 per wheel. As I said, not cheap, but I think they came up great and makes the old girl look a bit better. The wheels had some gutter scrapes and pitting on them and these were taken out, polished and then painted black on the insets, and then given a clear protective coat over them. They look better than new now and are flawless - until I scrape into a gutter or something dumb.
Funny thing, after spending so much money getting my lovely wheels, they may of cost me the "Original Classic" trophy at the Show & Shine 'cos they're not originals. Now I'm gonna have to get a set of GT wheels and have them ready for shows.

Thanks. Does that mean I don't have to clean the gutter now?

Absolutely not, that gutter should be cleaned ASAP with pictures to prove it

I did my rims myself (15x6 Soarer wheels)
Cost me about $60 for a JOSCO drill polishing kit, and the paint, and sandpaper.
Then I spent about 6 hours (ish) on each rim.
But I was on holidays, so it didn't matter
Result = worth it.
Thats not the best pic, and the need a tidy up, but I did them over almost 2 years ago (that pic was taken a few months after)

I was quoted $100 a wheel for paint and polish/coating by a place in Blacktown...just off Tattersall road..Would have been worth it if mine was show car.. but its not.. so I did it myself with some stainless steel pot scourers to start then fine wet and dry...eagle one polishing paste and ordinary spray enamel(after masking of course)..and proper clear coat from Peps..has not been touched for 18 months and still looks fine..
CrUZida!!!
Where did you get the JOSCO kit??...they use to sell them at BBC/Hardware house (Now Bunnings) but no longer??

I got mine from Bunnings.
I went back earlier this year, and they were still there.
And from what I can tell they always will be there.

If you get a short bit of mild steel rod, bout 8mm diameter with a hacksaw cut on the end. Then about one inch strips of sand paper wound around and powered by a drill or die grinder. Does a nice job if you've got the appropriate amount of time...............................Chris
