2T timing mark
Sun, 10 October 2004 05:13
which is the correct ignition timing mark on a 2T? ive got one on the front of the crank pulley (radiator side), which is arrow shaped, and a rectangular groove cut into the back of the pulley (block side.) spose i should just pull the rocker cover off and check what the the valves are doing. let me know anyway if you know...
i got 2 and both mine is on the block side... my motor wsa rebuilt a long time ago and from the rebuild the timing went off a bit and therefore the timing mark was re adjusted. seems like that may have been the same for you, a motor rebuild
both my marks are like 3mm apart so i just put it in the middle for my motor... what you can try is adjust toiming to first mark and check motor and then use other mark and whoch ever is better idle is the one you use

the trouble is mine are about 10cm apart. think i know which one it is though, was near enough when both valves were close on cyl 1. i guess i'll work from there.
thanks.
