Hey guys,
was tossing up this idea on trd-spec but didn't really get much feedback on the overall cost, feasiblity and practicality of such a swap
I'm sure you're all getting tired of ae86 engine swaps so please keep all negative feedback to urself and you won't even notice this thread is here..
I originally came up with the thought of a ca18det after seeing simons... so you can think him for th einflux on ca18det sprinters u'll see around i guess.. But after hunting around for engines, my budget was becomming stressed... i also realised to drive a ca18det sprinter would be an illegal matter on my p's...
so i thought... CA18DE... it's got the same range as a 4age... and people are practicliy BEGGING people to take them off their hands... and when im off my p's... i'll have a bit more money and knowledge and can quite easily afford a better more powerfull engine if i see fit.. and it will no longer be able to drive a 130kw engine in a 900kg car...
So... my question is... how much more would be involved in this swap as opposied to a 16v 4age? Would it be a lot harder? Would my overall cost end up being that of a 4age 16v swap, or more... or less? Would custom mounts be hard to make? would wiring become a problem?
any help on the issue would be greatly appretiated... thanks in advance
