Wed, 16 October 2002 03:34 Hey all A340E auto owners, I just spoke with Michael from MV Automatics in South Australia, who is a Soarer specialist. Just got a quote on a Stage 2 upgrade for the automatic gearbox, which includes lifting stall RPM to around 2,500 rpm, and reducing shift time to <0.5 sec, rather than the factory 2.0 sec. It also removes the "misfire" that commonly occurs when upgrading the exhaust. He also offers a Stage 3 kit which allows full manual control of the gearbox, but is suggested for track use only or for conversions that use an aftermarket computer which cannot control the auto gearbox (e.g. A'PEXi PowerFC). Prices ! Stage 2 kit, including all parts and fitting instructions: $385 + freight from SA. Stage 3 kit, including all Stage 2 items, plus electronic controller which plugs into the gearbox loom. $685 + freight. As soon as I save up enough, this is my next upgrade.
