2jzge trigger wheel on crank?

Sitting on the end of the crank behind the pulley i 'had' a metal circle with numerous holes drilled into the outer edge of the circle, all the way around the circumfrence.
Now i was of the understanding that the GE doesnt use a crank trigger or pickup, however this circle looks like it would be apart of a trigger setup of some description.
Basically it was lunched when i removed the pulley, don't think i really need one, but thought i would ask never the less.
ta guys.

its not a crank trigger, its a ring that helps keep the timing belt on the gear.
when the crank pulley is tightened on, the belt guide is butted up against the timing gear and prevents the timing belt from coming off the edge and rubbing against the cover and eventually breaking or coming off.

I'll take a pic of the trigger wheel on the VVTi 2JZGE I have lying around here and post it up over the weekend.
