WTF my 2t-geu sounds like a wrx???	Sat, 23 October 2004 12:19

i have a 75 celica with a stock 2t-geu with twin 40mm solex carbies and ramflow air filters on it, 4-2-1 extractors and an electronic fuel pump. i couldnt find any thing on search hat was related. long story short it sounds like a wrx with an exhaust and lacks acceleration. i have checked the carbies, air filter and the spark plugs and found nothing wronng. I also cheaked the distributer timing and found that if i rotate it clockwise a bit it goes back close to normal but idels higher. what else should i check to ensure it wont happen again? this is the second time it has happened, the first was when i missed 2nd gear and redlined 1st, which led to one of my carbies sucking the air filter into one of the air intakes (1st cylinder). this has resulted in that mysterious wrx noise. much help needed due to people looking for a wrx and seeing me when driving up the road. they're like "WTF!! thats not a wrx" [Report message to a moderator]
